When using the bathroom in a jail cell to take a crap put up a sheet by tying one end to your bunk and the other end to anything on the other wall such as a shelf. When taking a Piss make sure your back is to your cell mate and flush repeatedly so they don't have to hear you going to the bathroom, same thing when shitting so no one has to hear you or smell your crap. If your in a dorm you might not have the option of privacy. Some toilets are out in the open and there is no way to hang anything to conceal yourself. Also be careful when tying up a curtain because in some jails the guards will give you a ticket and take you to segregation if you block there view of inside your cell so don't get caught. You will learn the CO schedule and when they make their rounds and at what times. The schedule is regular as clockwork so time your toilet usage unless it's an emergency. Everything inside is on a schedule, the sooner you are too the better off you will be.
